Bewohnbare Welten|可栖之地 – A New Socio-Political Salon
A programme by C*SPACE and the Heinrich Böll Foundation
Together with the Heinrich Böll Foundation, we have launched “Bewohnbare Welten|可栖之地”, a socio-political edition of our Pop-Up Teahouse Berlin. Inspired by Heinrich Böll’s humanist thinking and his call for a “habitable language in a habitable country”, the programme explores how we want to live together in a time of increasing polarisation and social tensions.
Through workshops and salons, the programme brings together people from Berlin’s Chinese diaspora and the wider German society. The salons have explored topics including “Muttersprache und Mitsprache” with Dr. Wang Ge, “What Is the Good Life? Questions of Civilisation between Europe and China” with Dr. Liya Yu, and “We are all members of Nature” with Knut Wimberger, founder of Green. Together, they create spaces for exchange, new perspectives, and a shared exploration of questions around the good life, social participation, and our responsibility towards one another.
